## How to Import Documents as Sales Challans in Import Sale Configuration?

In this tutorial, we will learn how to import **Sale Bill details as a Sale Challan** from an external file in Logic ERP.

The **"Import As Challan"** option allows you to import Sale Bill details directly as a **Sale Challan** instead of creating a regular Sale Bill.

***

### Access to the Import Sale Bills Module

* Navigate to the **Import Sale Bills from External File** module.

#### Default Behavior

* By default, the system is configured to import the document as a **Sale Bill**.
* As you can see, the **Bill Series** section displays all the available **Sale Bill Series**.
* Now, let's configure the import to create a Sale Challan instead.

***

### Let's Enable Import As Challan

* Open the **Configuration** window.
* Locate and enable the option labeled as:

> **"Import As Challan"**

* Save the configuration changes.

#### System Behavior

* As you can see, after enabling **"Import As Challan"**, the **Bill Series** section now displays the available **Sale Challan Series**.
* This indicates that the Sale Bill details will now be imported as a **Sale Challan** instead of a Sale Bill.

***

### Select the Sale Challan Series

* Open the **Bill Series** dropdown.
* Select the required **Sale Challan Series**.
* Select the required external Sale Bill file.
* Proceed with the import process.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2F5lqGNB2OpZw0njvJAYbE%2F24.png?alt=media&amp;token=5e97af29-44fa-4d62-9ce7-e1d76d4308d0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Import Result

* The Sale Bill document has been successfully imported.
* Now, let's verify the result in the **Sale Challan** module.

***

### Verify the Imported Sale Challan

* Open the **Sale Challan** module.
* Locate the imported document.
* Verify the transaction details and selected series.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FIKshc6nEdL4mZyOzxQYr%2FCH-24.png?alt=media&amp;token=5a994af7-4528-4d73-a2bd-d4679f2c8973" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result**

As you can see, the Sale Bill details have been successfully imported as a **Sale Challan** under the selected **Sale Challan Series**.

***

### Key Benefits

* **Flexible Import:** Import Sale Bill data directly as a Sale Challan.
* **Correct Series Selection:** Displays the available Sale Challan Series automatically.
* **Reduced Manual Entry:** Eliminates the need to recreate the document manually.
* **Efficient Processing:** Simplifies the process of converting external Sale Bill data into Sale Challans.

***

### Final Outcome

By enabling **"Import As Challan"**, Logic ERP imports the details from the external Sale Bill file as a **Sale Challan** and allows you to select the required Sale Challan Series before completing the import process.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://kb.logicerp.com/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/utilities/import-masters-transactions-from-external-files/import-sale-bills-from-external-file/import-sale-bills-from-external-file-configuration/import-as-challan.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
