## How to Convert Scheme (Rs.) to Free Quantity in Import PUV Configuration?

In this tutorial, we will learn how to use the **"Convert Scheme Rupee to Free Qty"** feature while importing Purchase Vouchers from an external file in Logic ERP.

This feature allows the system to consider the **Scheme Rupee** amount only for items where the **Basic Rate is set to zero**.

***

### Open the Import Configuration

To access the required option:

* Navigate to **Import Purchase Vouchers from External File**.
* Open the **Configuration** window.
* Locate the option labeled as:

> **"Convert Scheme Rupee to Free Qty"**

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2F4OFWl73iwT46YBw1sbN5%2FCNF%20-%20Default.png?alt=media&amp;token=23ce0a51-86d4-4eb4-b1bb-db3d4d00e4c4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Before enabling this option, let's first understand its default behavior.

***

### Review the Excel Data

Before importing the voucher, let's review the Excel sheet.

As you can see:

* The **Scheme Rupee** column contains a scheme amount of **₹2 for each item**.
* The total Scheme Rupee amount for all items is **₹18**.
* Out of these items, **3 items have their Basic Rate set to zero**.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FtcFhWniNmzP0D6VTvUTN%2FNew%20xls.png?alt=media&amp;token=573f02d6-f554-4741-8e2c-a901709b4100" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Now, let's import the Purchase Voucher while the feature is disabled.
* As you can see, the **Basic Rate** is zero for some items.
* The **Scheme** has been applied to all items.
* The total **Scheme value** is **18**.

<div><figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FcwaTwPkMyCATtN8ACqNK%2FImport%20-%20Before.png?alt=media&amp;token=5e1f0469-f945-4f50-96e5-00510099933d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FRixP2aqecNeBcIloMnJ3%2FImport%20-%20Scheme.png?alt=media&amp;token=386cb9ee-7a34-42ff-9b30-22f6d147cc0d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

***

### Import the Voucher with the Feature Disabled

* Keep **"Convert Scheme Rupee to Free Qty"** disabled.
* Import the Purchase Voucher using the same Excel file.

**System Behavior**

As you can see, since the feature is disabled, the system considers the **complete Scheme Rupee amount of ₹18** from the Excel sheet.

Now, let's enable the feature and observe the difference.

***

### Enable Convert Scheme Rupee to Free Qty

* Return to the **Configuration** window.
* Enable **"Convert Scheme Rupee to Free Qty"**.
* Save the configuration.
* Import the **same Excel file** again.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FebhIlhlo1GScMKwgBWLE%2FScheme%20-%206.png?alt=media&amp;token=613b7746-9475-4365-98fc-5814e4891e7f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**System Behavior**

After enabling this feature, the system considers the Scheme Rupee amount **only for items where the Basic Rate is zero**.

In our example:

* **3 items** have a Basic Rate of **₹0**.
* Each of these items has a Scheme Rupee amount of **₹2**.

Therefore:

**Total Scheme Rupee = 3 × ₹2 = ₹6**

The system correctly calculates the total Scheme Rupee amount as **₹6**.

***

### Verify the Imported Purchase Voucher

* Proceed with importing the voucher.
* Once the purchase details are imported successfully, open the **Purchase Voucher** module.
* Open the imported voucher and verify the Scheme Rupee amount.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FJrU9EWUEb37ZivS7xCpU%2FSch%20-%20Purchase.png?alt=media&amp;token=2d65da9f-521f-4ad9-98fd-229a9f0de72f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result**

As you can see, the system correctly reflects the total **Scheme Rupees amount as ₹6**.

For all other items where the **Basic Rate is specified**, the **Scheme Rupees** amount is displayed as **zero**.

***

### Final Outcome

By enabling **"Convert Scheme Rupee to Free Qty"**, the system applies the Scheme Rupee amount only to items with a **Basic Rate of zero**, while items with a specified Basic Rate are treated as having **zero Scheme Rupees**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://kb.logicerp.com/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/utilities/import-masters-transactions-from-external-files/import-purchase-vouchers-from-external-file/import-purchase-vouchers-configuration/convert-scheme-rupee-to-free-qty.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
