How to Configure Default Setting to Skip Barcode Printing in New Item Creation?

In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the “Do Not Print Barcode” option in Logic ERP. This feature controls whether a barcode is generated for new items. We’ll show you how it works when disabled versus enabled, and how it affects the barcode printing process during item creation.

Accessing Configuration Settings

  • Navigate to: Setups/Setup Items and then click on "Setup Items Multiple Packs/Sizes".

  • Click on the Configuration.

  • Under the Configuration Options - 1 tab.

  • Locate the option labeled as:

“Do Not Print Barcode”.

Keep the Option Disabled

  • For now, keep this feature disabled.

  • Go to Column Locks and ensure that the Print Barcode option is unlocked.

  • Once unlocked, the Print Barcode column will appear in the grid as unchecked by default.

Create and Print an Item Barcode

  • Create a new item.

  • Navigate to the Barcode Label Printing module.

  • Select the newly created item and proceed to print its barcode.

Since the “Do Not Print Barcode” option is disabled, the barcode prints successfully.

Enable the Option

  • Return to Setup → Items Multiple Packs/Sizes → Configuration.

  • Enable the “Do Not Print Barcode” option.

  • Create a new item and save it.

  • After saving, the system automatically checks the “Do Not Print Barcode” option for that item.

Attempt Barcode Printing

  • Go to the Barcode Label Printing module.

  • Select the newly created item and try to print its barcode.

This time, the system displays an error message: “No record found for printing”. This indicates that barcode label printing has been restricted for that item.

Key Takeaway

  • When disabled, barcodes can be printed for items as usual.

  • When enabled, the system blocks barcode printing for newly created items by default.

This feature helps businesses control and restrict barcode printing where required.
