How to Exclude Discounted Items from Loyalty Point Calculation in Sales Bill?
In this tutorial, we will learn how to exclude items with specific discounts from loyalty point calculation in Sales Bills using the "Calculate Points on Basis of Items, Skip Items if any of the below is greater than 0" option in Logic ERP.
Objective of This Feature
Exclude discounted items from loyalty point calculation
Define which discount types should make an item ineligible
Calculate loyalty points only on eligible items
Prevent loyalty points from being awarded on discounted items
Ensure accurate loyalty point calculation
Access to the Customer Points Configuration
Navigate to the Set Customer Points Configuration module.
Locate and enable the option labeled as:
"Calculate Points on Basis of Items, Skip Items if any of the below is greater than 0"
Configure Discount Parameters
The discount parameter section becomes active.
Select the discount type that should be excluded from loyalty point calculation.
For this example, select Cash Discount (CD).

Save the configuration changes.
Configure Loyalty Point Settings
For this example:
₹100 Purchase = 1 Loyalty Point
1 Loyalty Point = ₹10

These settings determine the loyalty points earned on eligible purchase amounts.
Create a Sales Bill
Navigate to the Sales Bill module.
Create a new Loyalty Customer.
Create a Sales Bill containing multiple items.
Apply Cash Discount (CD) to one item.
Keep the remaining items without any CD.

Save the Sales Bill.
Verify Loyalty Points
Create a new Sales Bill.
Search for the same loyalty customer.
Check the loyalty points earned from the previous transaction.

Observation
The customer has earned 40 loyalty points.
To understand the calculation, open the previously created Sales Bill and review the individual items.
Observe the Excluded Item
Discounted Item
The Last item has Cash Discount (CD) applied.
Since CD is selected in the configuration, the software automatically excludes this item from loyalty point calculation.
Eligible Items
The remaining items do not have any CD.
Therefore, these items remain eligible for earning loyalty points.

Verify the Loyalty Point Calculation
The total eligible purchase value is ₹4,000.
Since the configured loyalty rule is:
₹100 = 1 Loyalty Point
₹2000 + ₹2000 = ₹4,000
₹4000 = 40 Loyalty Points
The software awards 40 loyalty points to the customer.
The item with CD is excluded from the calculation, ensuring that loyalty points are awarded only on eligible items.
Key Benefits
Accurate Point Calculation: Awards points only on eligible items.
Discount-Based Exclusion: Automatically skips items with selected discounts.
Flexible Configuration: Allows businesses to define applicable discount parameters.
Prevents Excess Rewards: Avoids awarding loyalty points on discounted items.
Better Loyalty Management: Ensures loyalty rewards follow defined business rules.
Important Note
Only the discount parameters selected under "Calculate Points on Basis of Items, Skip Items if any of the below is greater than 0" will be considered for excluding items from loyalty point calculation.
Final Outcome
By enabling "Calculate Points on Basis of Items, Skip Items if any of the below is greater than 0" and selecting Cash Discount (CD), Logic ERP automatically excludes items having CD from loyalty point calculation. Loyalty points are then calculated only on the eligible items, ensuring accurate and controlled reward allocation.
