In this tutorial, you will learn how to assign custom item codes for specific parties in Logic ERP.
This feature is especially useful when customers use their own item codes, enabling faster and more accurate billing.
Open Party + Item Code Setup
To begin:
Go to the Setup Module
Navigate to Party Wise Settings
Open Party + Item Wise Item Codes
This window allows you to define custom item codes for each party.
Create Party Groups
Define the required Party Groups
Click Save
Party groups help in managing multiple customers with similar coding structures.
Link Party with Group
Go to Party + Group Linking Tab
Select the Party Account
Click Refresh to load details
Assign the appropriate Party Group
Click Save
This ensures the selected Party follows the defined item code structure.
Define Party Wise Item Codes
Move to Setup Party Group Wise Item Codes Tab
Select the Party Group
Choose items using the Search Option
Click Refresh
You will see Logic Item Codes Auto Filled for reference.
Define Custom Codes:
Enter Party-specific Item Codes in the given columns
Save the changes
These codes will be used during billing for that specific party.
Use Item Codes in Billing
Go to the Sales Bill Entry Window
Select the Party
Scan or enter the Party Item Code
Result:
System automatically picks the correct item
Faster billing with customer-specific codes
Bulk Import via Excel (Advanced)
For large data management:
Click on Retrieve from Excel
Use Excel Help to understand required columns
Select the Party Group.
Browse and upload the Excel file
Click Refresh to import data
Click Save
Additional Options:
Override Option → Update existing item codes
Use Logic Item Codes as Additional Codes → Keep system codes alongside party codes
