In this tutorial, we will learn how the "Do Not Update Doc Details in GSTR1 Excel Sheet, JSON & API" feature works during GST Return generation in Logic ERP. This option allows users to prevent document details from being exported to GSTR1 Excel files, JSON files, and API-based GST submissions.
Exclude document details from GSTR1 exports.
Control the information included in GST filing data.
Simplify exported GST return files when document details are not required.
Manage Excel, JSON, and API output according to business requirements.
Navigate to Reports/Queries and then Sale Registers.
Select GST Reports/Returns.
Open GST Returns Module.
Click on Configuration and open Configuration Settings 2.
Locate the option labeled as:
"Do Not Update Doc Details in GSTR1 Excel Sheet, JSON & API"
When enabled, document details are not exported during GSTR1 generation.
The feature is currently disabled.
Action
Select the Return Type as GSTR1.
Select the required return period.
Click Generate.
Review the GSTR1 Data
Navigate to the Doc Details tab.
All document details are visible in the report.
Document information is available for export.
Available Export Options
Generate JSON File for GST Portal upload.
Export report data to Excel using the Upload button.
Submit data through API integration where applicable.
Example: Export the GSTR1 report to Excel.
Result
In the generated Excel file:
The Doc Details tab contains all document details.
Voucher and document information is exported because the feature is disabled.
Return to GST Returns Configuration.
Enable the option: "Do Not Update Doc Details in GSTR1 Excel Sheet, JSON & API"
Save the configuration.
Generate the GSTR1 return for the same period.
Export the report data to Excel using the Upload button.
Result
After enabling the feature:
The Doc Details tab is no longer updated.
Document details are not exported to the Excel file.
The same behavior applies to JSON exports and API-based data transmission.
Provides better control over GSTR1 export data.
Prevents document details from being included in exported files.
Simplifies Excel and JSON output.
Supports customized GST filing workflows.
Reduces unnecessary document-level data in exports.
