## How to Configure Decimal Places for Rates in Barcode Label printing?

In this tutorial, we will learn how to configure **decimal places for rates from the Print Columns** while printing barcode labels in Logic ERP. This feature allows the barcode design to use the decimal precision defined for the rate in the Print Columns settings.

***

### Review the Default Decimal Settings

* Navigate to the **Barcode Label Printing** module.
* Open the **Configuration** section.
* Locate the option labeled as:

> **"Pick Decimal Places for Rates From Print Columns"**

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FJI62w7IBJdfrpLnfLC7N%2FCNF.png?alt=media&amp;token=d8adc756-34b1-4507-82c9-bda25d894e22" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Keep this option **disabled**.

#### Current Setup

* Open the **Print Columns** section.
* Locate the **Sale Rate** field, which is displayed with **2 decimal places by default**.
* Change the decimal setting from **2** to **4** places.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FnAAFYtVPzpoZpvzRc4NU%2FSale%20Rate%20-%20Print%20Column.png?alt=media&amp;token=519e2ee5-b2ad-4b41-9847-9f03d5ebdeb6" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Save the changes.
* Print the barcode and verify that the **Sale Rate** is displayed with **4 decimal places**.

***

### Print the Barcode with Default Settings

* Select the required **Purchase Voucher**.
* Select the required item.
* Click **Create**.

The **Barcode Printing Design Selection** window will appear.

* Click **Yes** to print the barcode directly.
* Click **No** to open the **Barcode Design** window.
* Select **No**.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2Flsr3HKraAeXoR5BKotSw%2FCreate.png?alt=media&amp;token=5787e55e-af8f-44d0-b8df-91567b9e361d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Click **Open** and select the required barcode design format.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FcbtqZngbUNUpMqZzwYs6%2FOpen.png?alt=media&amp;token=22de6859-ba55-4c6b-8ea1-152a71baf288" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result:**

* Since the option is currently **disabled**, the **Sale Rate** is displayed with **2 decimal places**, even though **4 decimal places** have been defined in the **Print Columns**.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FSnP1A5Zps3KdTrzl1NsO%2FRate%20Decimal.png?alt=media&amp;token=397fde99-3678-457e-94eb-eecab7dbd7bb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* This indicates that the default **2-decimal format** is applied when the option is disabled.

### Enable Print Column Decimal Settings

* Return to the **Barcode Label Printing Configuration** window.
* Enable **"Pick Decimal Places for Rates From Print Columns"**.
* Save the configuration changes.

***

### Verify the Updated Decimal Places

* Print the barcode label for the same **Purchase Voucher** again.
* Open the barcode design and check the **Sale Rate**.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FCxnlY0oOsWH5ENzsNaxq%2FEnabled.png?alt=media&amp;token=d8c5bc87-b885-4af8-a9fe-6f33e37934a9" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result**

* The **Sale Rate** is now displayed with **4 decimal places**.
* For example, if the Sale Rate in the Purchase Voucher is defined with only **2 decimal places**, the system automatically adds **2 trailing zeros** to match the 4-decimal setting defined in the Print Columns.

#### Example

* **Purchase Voucher Rate:** 100.50
* **Print Columns Setting:** 4 Decimal Places
* **Barcode Label Rate:** 100.5000

***

### Key Benefits

* **Flexible Precision:** Allows you to define the required decimal places for rates.
* **Print Column Control:** Uses the decimal setting configured in Print Columns.
* **Consistent Formatting:** Maintains a uniform rate format on barcode labels.
* **Automatic Adjustment:** Adds trailing zeros when required to match the configured decimal precision.

#### Final Outcome

After enabling **"Pick Decimal Places for Rates From Print Columns"**, Logic ERP uses the decimal places defined in the **Print Columns** section while printing rates on barcode labels, ensuring consistent and accurate rate formatting.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://kb.logicerp.com/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/reports-queries/item-report/barcode-labels-printing/barcode-labels-printing-configuration/pick-decimal-places-for-rates-from-print-columns.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
