How to Configure Process Group Selection in Job Orders?
In this tutorial, we will learn how to configure the "Doc Process Group" option in Logic ERP to control whether a Process Group is optional or mandatory in a Job Order. This feature also ensures that the appropriate Process Group is saved with the Job Order.
Objective of This Feature
Control Process Group selection in Job Orders
Make Process Group selection optional or mandatory
Automatically save the linked Process Group with the Job Order
Prevent saving items without a required Process Group
Restrict items belonging to different Process Groups in the same Job Order
Access to the Job Order Configuration
Open the Job Order Configuration window.
Navigate to the Other Settings section.
Locate the option labeled as:
"Doc Process Group"
Available Options
This option provides three choices:
Not Applicable – No Process Group is saved with the Job Order.
Process Group is Optional – The Process Group is saved if available, but its selection is not mandatory.
Process Group is Mandatory – Items must be linked to a Process Group before the Job Order can be saved.
Observe Process Group Optional
Select "Process Group is Optional".
Save the configuration changes.
Initiate a New Job Order.
Navigate to the Item Details section.
Transact the required item.
Result
If the item is not linked to any Process Group, the software still allows the Job Order to be saved successfully because Process Group selection is optional.
Observe Process Group Mandatory
Return to the Job Order Configuration.
Set Doc Process Group to "Process Group is Mandatory".
Save the configuration.
Initiate another Job Order using the same item.
Result
When you try to save the Job Order, the software restricts the transaction because the selected item is not linked to any Process Group.
Link Process Group with Item
Go to the Production Setup module.
Open Process Plus Item Linking.
Select the required item.
Click Refresh.
Select the required pack.
Click Add.
Assign the appropriate Process Group.
Repeat the same process for all required pack sizes.
Save the changes.
Save the Job Order with Process Group
Return to the Job Order Entry window.
Open or create the Job Order using the linked item.
Save the Job Order.
Result
Since the required Process Group is now linked with the item, the software successfully saves the Process Group with the Job Order.
Prevent Different Process Groups in One Job Order
Keep Doc Process Group set to "Process Group is Mandatory".
Initiate a new Job Order.
Add two items that are linked to different Process Groups.
Try to save the Job Order.
Result
The software restricts the transaction and displays the message:
"This document contains items belonging to different process groups."
This means items linked to different Process Groups cannot be saved in the same Job Order.
