**YouTube:** [How to Configure Unit/ Pack Conversion Factors in Sales Orders?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znbSiiSoEpg)

## How to Configure Unit/ Pack Conversion Factors in Sales Orders?

In this tutorial, we will learn how to configure the **CF for Units Per Pack** option in the Sales Order Configuration. This feature allows you to control which Item Conversion Factor (CF) is used to determine the **Units Per Pack** value during Sales Order entry.

***

### Objective of This Feature

* Configure the Units Per Pack calculation.
* Select the required Item Conversion Factor (CF).
* Support multiple packing units for the same item.
* Ensure accurate quantity and packing calculations.
* Improve flexibility in Sales Order processing.

***

### Open Sales Order Configuration

* Open the **Sales Order Configuration** window.
* Navigate to the **Other Options** section.
* Locate the option labeled as:

> **"CF for Units/Pack"**

***

### Option 1: Item CF1

* Select **Item CF1** from the dropdown.
* Save the configuration.

**Result**

The **Units Per Pack** value is automatically displayed according to the **Item CF1** conversion factor defined in the Item Master.

***

### Option 2: Item CF2

* Return to the configuration window.
* Change **CF for Units Per Pack** to **Item CF2**.
* Save the changes.

* Select the same Item.

<figure><img src="/files/LG9j8vxZyylTIjyVXQ0n" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result**

The **Units Per Pack** column now displays the value based on the **Item CF2** conversion factor.

***

### Option 3: Item CF3 (or Other Conversion Factors)

* Return to the configuration window.
* Change **CF for Units Per Pack** to **Item CF3**.
* Save the changes.

**Observe the Functionality**

* Create a new Sales Order.
* Select the same Item.

<figure><img src="/files/DMUkiI1Q1rrfa9GUbQxk" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result**

The system automatically uses the selected conversion factor and displays the corresponding **Units Per Pack** value during Sales Order entry.

***

### Option 4: Units

* Select **Units** from the dropdown.
* Ensure the **Rate Per Unit** option is configured accordingly.
* Save the configuration.

**Observe the Functionality**

* Initiate a new Sales Order.
* Select an Item.

<figure><img src="/files/DMUkiI1Q1rrfa9GUbQxk" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result**

The system treats the Item as a **single unit** and does not apply any pack conversion factor. The **Units Per Pack** value is displayed based on individual units.

***

### Verify Conversion Factor Settings

To review the conversion factors defined for an Item:

* Open **Setup Item Multiple Packs**.
* Search and select the required Item.
* Navigate to the **Pack Details** section.

<figure><img src="/files/uVFb4Xy8xHm3Y3NEOp3q" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result**

Here, you can view all the configured conversion factors (CF1, CF2, CF3, etc.) along with their corresponding **Units Per Pack** values. The system uses these values based on the conversion factor selected in the Sales Order Configuration.

***

### Key Benefits

* Supports multiple packing configurations for the same Item.
* Automatically applies the selected conversion factor.
* Ensures accurate Units Per Pack calculations.
* Simplifies quantity and packaging management.
* Provides flexibility for different business requirements.

***

### Best Practice Tips

* Define all required conversion factors in the **Item Master** before configuring this option.
* Select the conversion factor that matches your operational packing standard.
* Use the **Units** option when pack-based calculations are not required.
* Verify **Rate Per Unit** settings when using the **Units** option to ensure accurate pricing.

***

### Final Outcome

The **CF for Units Per Pack** feature enables Logic ERP to automatically determine the **Units Per Pack** value based on the selected Item Conversion Factor. Whether using **Item CF1**, **CF2**, **CF3**, or **Units**, the system applies the appropriate packing configuration during Sales Order entry, ensuring accurate quantity management and flexible order processing.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://kb.logicerp.com/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/order-processing/sale-order/so-configuration/cf-for-unit-pack.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
