## How to Configure Display Order for Delivery Order Generation?

In this tutorial, we will learn how to configure the **Display Order** for Sales Orders while generating Delivery Orders in Logic ERP.

The **Display Order** option provides multiple ways to arrange Sales Orders before Delivery Orders are generated, including the default sequence, indirect party-wise order, and a user-defined sequence.

***

### Access to the Display Order Configuration

* Open the **Delivery Order Configuration** window.
* Navigate to the **Other Settings** section.
* Locate the option labeled as:

> **"Display Order"**

#### Available Options

The **Display Order** dropdown provides three choices:

* **Default**
* **Indirect Party Wise**
* **User-Defined Order**

Let's understand each option one by one.

***

### Configure Default Display Order

First, let's understand the **Default** setting.

**Default Behavior**

* Select **Default** from the **Display Order** dropdown.
* Save the configuration changes.
* Click on **Sales Order Selection**.
* Select the required Sales Orders.

For this example, we are selecting three Sales Orders that were generated on different dates.

**Generate Delivery Orders**

* Click on **Generate Order**.

**System Behavior**

With the **Default** setting:

* The selected Sales Orders are arranged according to their Sales Order date.
* The oldest Sales Order is displayed and processed first.
* Delivery Orders are generated in **date-wise ascending order**.

***

### Configure Indirect Party Wise Display Order

Now, let's see how the **Indirect Party Wise** option works.

**Configuration**

* Return to the **Delivery Order Configuration** window.
* Under **Other Settings**, open the **Display Order** dropdown.
* Select **Indirect Party Wise**.
* Save the configuration changes.

#### Implement the Configuration

* Click on **Sales Order Selection**.
* Select the required Sales Orders.
* Click on **Generate Order**.

<div><figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FhNOAXfm3uiexZaDxiBsk%2FIndirect%20Party%201.png?alt=media&amp;token=c4bfaba1-7790-466b-873b-ad4df105fa2d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2F1uWtLbM2dDt4gQQvL8Bt%2FIndirect%20Party%202.png?alt=media&amp;token=8c431b4f-f915-4160-a3fe-d78ec4cc07c4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FRBkC15XAH4eHTFDd9M38%2FIndirect%20Party%203.png?alt=media&amp;token=a3478cfb-8223-4afc-a405-3889b0f3db14" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

#### System Behavior

* The Sales Orders are rearranged based on the **Indirect Party Name**.
* The orders are displayed in **alphabetical order** according to the Indirect Party Name.
* Delivery Orders are generated following the same sequence.

***

### Configure User-Defined Order

Finally, let's understand the **User-Defined Order** option.

* Return to the **Delivery Order Configuration** window.
* Select **User-Defined Order** from the **Display Order** dropdown.

#### Define the Sequence

* After selecting this option, the system displays a list of available fields.
* You can arrange these fields according to your preferred sequence.
* Use the available **arrow keys** to move fields up or down.

For example, we are moving **Group Name** to the top of the list.

This means that the Sales Orders will be prioritized based on **Group Name**.

* Arrange the fields in the required sequence.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FpNTw1a4od3DUqwE2W9p8%2FUser%20Defined.png?alt=media&amp;token=4376e1b8-3873-45f4-826d-3fce525c4e16" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Save the configuration changes.

***

### Generate Delivery Orders Using the User-Defined Sequence

Now, let's verify the result.

* Click on **Sales Order Selection**.
* Select the required Sales Orders.
* Click on **Generate Order**.

<div><figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FLDO41OSw7BBOK4k2U6Xt%2FUser%20Defined%201.png?alt=media&amp;token=4c8adb37-c809-4c0f-83bd-5d94f951f81e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FI1KDDGZoHBK33jSqpulM%2FUser%20Defined%2022.png?alt=media&amp;token=a50a1e39-89b9-4f8a-853e-b5999b21e30f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FWzInFFHPhGH1P0Pf0IOn%2FUser%20Defined%203.png?alt=media&amp;token=5bc0dfec-612e-4455-9bb4-f03648c3a7f8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

#### System Behavior

* The Sales Orders are now arranged according to the user-defined sequence.
* Since **Group Name** was moved to the top, the Sales Orders are prioritized based on Group Name.
* The Delivery Orders are generated **group-wise in alphabetical order**.

***

### Display Order Summary

| Display Order | Sales Order Arrangement |
| ----------------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| **Default**             | Date-wise in ascending order              |
| **Indirect Party Wise** | Alphabetically by Indirect Party Name |
| **User-Defined Order** | Based on the sequence defined by the user |

***

### Key Benefits

* Provides flexible control over Sales Order processing.
* Allows orders to be arranged based on date or party.
* Supports customized ordering using user-defined fields.
* Helps streamline Delivery Order generation according to business requirements.

#### Final Outcome

The **Display Order** configuration allows you to control how Sales Orders are arranged and processed during Delivery Order generation. You can use the **Default**, **Indirect Party Wise**, or **User-Defined Order** option based on your required workflow.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://kb.logicerp.com/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/order-processing/generate-delivery-orders/generate-delivery-orders-configuration/display-order.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
