## How to Prompt for Godown Selection in Modification Mode in Assembling?

In this tutorial, we will learn how to enable the **"Prompt Godown Selection in Modification Mode Also"** feature in the Assembling Module. This feature ensures that the system prompts users to verify or select the Godown whenever an existing Assembly document is modified and saved.

***

### Objective of This Feature

* Prompt Godown selection during document modification.
* Allow users to verify the selected Godown before saving.
* Improve inventory accuracy.
* Prevent incorrect Godown updates.
* Enhance control over Assembly transactions.

***

### Access to the Assembling Configuration

* Navigate to the **Assembling Module**.
* Open the **Configuration** window.
* Locate the option labeled as:

> **"Prompt Godown Selection in Modification Mode Also"**

<figure><img src="/files/rBC8Gs0M6ehyn1Tx7FqQ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

By default, this option is disabled.

***

### Observe the Default Behavior

Before enabling the feature, let's understand the default behavior.

* Create a new **Assembly** document.
* Select the Finished Item.
* Enter the required details.
* Verify the Assembly information.
* Save the document.

**Modify the Document**

* Click **Modify Issue**.
* Open the same Assembly document.
* Make the required changes.
* Click **Save**.

<figure><img src="/files/u3vXPr95deGzyhlp7Xlm" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result**

Since the feature is disabled:

* The system saves the modified document directly.
* No **Godown Selection** dialog is displayed during modification.

***

### Now, let's observe the behavior after enabling the feature.

* Return to the **Configuration** window.
* Enable the option: **"Prompt Godown Selection in Modification Mode Also"**
* Save the configuration.

**Observe the Functionality**

* Reopen the same Assembly document using **Modify Issue**.
* Make the required modifications.
* Click **Save**.

<figure><img src="/files/9JeRWnxcwz48ZNGAXHYn" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result**

Before saving the modified document, the system displays the **Select Godown** dialog box.

The dialog shows the Godown associated with the Assembly document, allowing you to review or change it before completing the save operation.

***

### Key Benefits

* Prompts Godown verification during document modification.
* Reduces the risk of updating inventory in the wrong Godown.
* Improves inventory accuracy.
* Strengthens transaction control.
* Ensures users confirm the correct Godown before saving.

***

### Best Practice Tips

* Enable this feature if Assembly documents are frequently modified.
* Always verify the displayed Godown before saving changes.
* Use this feature in environments with multiple Godowns to minimize inventory posting errors.
* Periodically review Godown assignments to ensure inventory accuracy.

***

### Final Outcome

When **"Prompt Godown Selection in Modification Mode Also"** is enabled, Logic ERP displays the **Select Godown** dialog whenever an Assembly document is modified and saved. This allows users to verify the associated Godown before completing the transaction, improving inventory control and reducing the likelihood of posting errors.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://kb.logicerp.com/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/inventory/assembling/assembling-configuration/prompt-godown-selection-in-modification-mode-also.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
