# Using Appointments on the Web and Phone

**Available on:** Web · Phone

Setup Appointments works in the **web browser** as well as on the desktop. It is the same Appointment Manager — the same appointments, the same rules and the same settings — so a booking made on the web appears on the desktop as soon as the diary there is refreshed, and the other way round.

The web screens are built **phone first**: everything on this page works on a phone, and on a larger screen the same pages simply spread out.

## Opening it

* Log in to the web application and open **Billing\Setup Appointments** from the menu.
* The **Appointment Viewer** (the diary) is the main page, with the menu beside it.
* Other screens open as **full-screen windows over the diary**. Close them to return to the diary exactly where you were.

### **On a phone**

* The menu **floats over the diary**. It starts closed — tap **>>** to open it, then double-tap the screen you want — and it closes itself once that screen opens.
* The diary shows as many stylists as fit the width of your screen. Use the **< n-m of N >** pager at the bottom right to move between stylists, and **+ / -** to show more or fewer at a time.
* Turning the phone round redraws the diary for the new width.

## Working with the diary

| To…                                                | On a computer               | On a phone                                                         |
| -------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| See an appointment's details                       | Click it                    | Tap it                                                             |
| See a stylist's details                            | Click the stylist's heading | Tap the stylist's heading                                          |
| Open the actions for an appointment or a free slot | Right-click                 | Long-press                                                         |
| Move an appointment | Drag it | Long-press › **Move**, then tap the free slot |
| Make an appointment longer or shorter | Drag its edge | Long-press › **Change Length**, then tap the slot it should end in |

**Move** keeps the appointment's length. **Change Length** works in the Day and Week views, on the same stylist and day. If the appointment is not in the dates on screen, you are asked to show dates that include it, or to use **Move to Date** instead.

> **Example — moving a booking on a phone.** Priya's haircut is with Ravi at 11:00–11:45, and she asks to see Anita at 2:00 instead. Long-press the appointment, choose **Move**, then tap Anita's column at 2:00. The appointment moves to Anita, 2:00–2:45 — the same 45 minutes. To give her an extra 15 minutes, long-press it again, choose **Change Length**, and tap the last slot before 3:00 in Anita's column — the slot it should end in: it now runs 2:00–3:00.

The **Current**, **Canceled** and **Past** buttons and the view buttons are highlighted when they are switched on, and the diary keeps your place in the day — the same time of day stays on screen when you change date, change view, or come back from a bill.

### **Filters**

The **Filters** panel opens on the **right** of the diary on the web, and closes with **>>**. It has the same Customer, Stylist, Status and Today only filters and the same appointment list as the desktop. Use the diary's own date picker to move between dates.

## Booking on the web

**New Appointment**, **New Walkin**, **New Grouped Appointment** and **Merge Existing Appointment**, and **Attach** / **Detach** on the grouped appointment window, all work on the web.

On a phone, Create Appointment shows the appointment details as a card at the top, with two tabs underneath — **Services** to choose from, and **Selected (n)** for the services already added. The buttons for each part sit in its heading.

**If you close the page while one of the booking windows is waiting for you** — Create Appointment, the package payment, the stylist or cancellation-reason choice, parameter values, the Time Slot Finder and similar — open Setup Appointments again and you are taken **back to that window**, so you can finish it. A window that was in the middle of saving, or a question box, is cancelled instead.

> **Example.** You are taking ₹2,000 against Kavya's spa package when you close the browser tab by mistake. Open **Billing\Setup Appointments** again: the **Customer Package Payment** window comes straight back, still showing Kavya's package, ready for you to finish the payment.

## Billing on the web

When an appointment is set to **Completed** on the web, the **POS billing page** opens with the appointment's services already filled in. Save the bill as usual, and you are brought back to Setup Appointments, at the same place in the diary. Closing the POS page without saving also brings you back.

* As on the desktop, you need the sale bill right.
* If you have already started a new bill with items on the POS page in the same login, the appointment bill is refused with *"A bill is being entered on the Sale Bill screen. Save or close it there, then set the appointment as Completed again."*
* In the **Batch Manager**, **Finish** opens the bills one after another. A bill closed without saving is skipped, and that appointment stays unbilled in the **Job Slip Viewer** to be billed later.

> **Example — your POS page is busy.** You started a counter sale on the POS page and scanned two products, then went back to Setup Appointments and set Meena's facial to **Completed**. The appointment bill is refused with *"A bill is being entered on the Sale Bill screen…"*, so your sale is not overwritten. Save or close that sale, set Meena's appointment to Completed again, and her bill opens with the facial already on it. (Someone else's POS on another login does not block you.)

## Printing on the web

Job slips and receipts are printed **through your browser**: the print is prepared and opened in a new browser window for you to print.

* If nothing appears, your browser may have **blocked the pop-up**. You are told when this happens — allow pop-ups for the site and print again.
* Print designs are made and changed on the **desktop** (**Print Designs** in the menu). The web uses the same designs.

## Reminders on the web

The web checks for due appointments **every 5 minutes**. When there are any, a **badge** appears at the top of the page; the reminder window opens by itself only when **new** appointments become due, so it does not keep interrupting you.

## Good to know

* **Settings are read when Setup Appointments starts, and kept for your web session.** If someone changes the Appointment Manager settings on another computer, log out and in again to pick them up.
* **One tab at a time.** If you open Setup Appointments in a second browser tab, the newest tab takes over; the older one shows *opened in another tab* with a **Use it here** button.
* **Working…** — while an action is running, a *Working…* badge shows and a second tap is not accepted until it finishes.
* **If the connection drops**, a *Reconnecting…* badge shows and the page reconnects by itself.
* **If your session ends** (for example after a long time idle), you are told so and the page reloads.
* **Your layout** — view, grouping, *Work time only*, stylists per page, and whether the menu and filters are open — is saved for you on the web separately from the desktop.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://kb.logicerp.com/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/billing/setup-appointments/using-appointments-on-the-web-and-phone.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
