# Appointments

**Available on:** Desktop · Web · Phone

This section covers the day-to-day work at the front desk: booking clients, seeing the diary, checking clients in, and keeping track of who is waiting and who is being served.

## A client's visit, start to finish

1. **Book** — double-click a free time in the **Appointment Viewer** and add the services. The appointment starts as *Unconfirmed*.
2. **Confirm** — when the client confirms, set it to *Confirmed*. The **Appointment Reminders** help you not to miss anyone.
3. **Arrive** — set *Lobby* while the client waits.
4. **Check in** — set *CheckedIn*: a job slip is made and the service starts. Clients without a booking come in through **Walk In**.
5. **Complete and bill** — set *Completed* or use **Create Bill** in the **Job Slip Viewer**. See [Billing Appointments](/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/billing/setup-appointments/billing-appointments.md).

> **Example.** Riya phones on Monday for a haircut on Friday at 5:00 PM — you book it with Anita (*Unconfirmed*). On Thursday she confirms (*Confirmed*). On Friday she arrives at 4:55 (*Lobby*), Anita takes her in (*CheckedIn*), and after the haircut you bill her (*Completed*).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://kb.logicerp.com/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/billing/setup-appointments/appointments.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
