# Setup Appointments

**Available on:** Desktop · Web · Phone

Navigate to **Billing** and click on "Setup Appointments".

## What it is

**Setup Appointments** is where a salon, spa or clinic runs its day: booking clients with a stylist, seeing everyone's diary at a glance, checking clients in, and turning a finished appointment into a bill.

Everything is in one window. A menu on the left opens each part of it, and each part opens as its own **tab**, so you can keep the diary, the job slips and a package screen open side by side and move between them.

The same screens work in the **web browser** and on a **phone**, so the front desk can work from a PC while a manager checks the diary from a tablet or phone.

## Before you open it

* The **Appointment Manager** module must be activated for your company. If it is not, the message *"Software is not activated or Hardware key does not have Activation."* appears and the window closes.
* You need rights to **Setup Appointments**. Some menu items — **Setup Package**, the **Configuration** group and the **Print Designs** group — appear only for users who are allowed to change the configuration.
* If this is the first time your business is using appointments, follow **Getting Started** first: stylists, their services and time slots must be set up before anything can be booked.

## The window

### **The menu**

The menu down the left-hand side is grouped by what you are doing:

| Group                                                                                                             | Items                                                                        |
| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| [Appointments](/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/billing/setup-appointments/appointments.md)   | Appointment Viewer · Job Slip Viewer · Stylist Attendance · Walk In          |
| **Billing** | Create New Bill · Customer Advance |
| [Packages](/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/billing/setup-appointments/packages.md)           | Package-Customer Link · Batch Manager · Package Parameters · Setup Package   |
| [Configuration](/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/billing/setup-appointments/configuration.md) | Settings · Link Images · Cancellation Reasons · Package Payment Config       |
| **Print Designs** | Job Slip · Final Job Slip · Package Payment Receipt · Package Refund Receipt |

* **Double-click** an item, or select it and press **Enter**, to open it. A single click only selects it.
* The attendance item appears only when **Use Employee Wise Attendance** is ticked in Settings, and it is named after your own word for a stylist (the **Agent Caption** in Settings) — for example *Stylist Attendance* or *Agent Attendance*.
* **Agent-Employee Linking** has no menu item of its own: it is a button inside **Settings**.
* Click **<<** on the thin strip beside the menu to hide it and give the diary the full width; click **>>** to bring it back.

### **Tabs**

Screens such as the Appointment Viewer, the Job Slip Viewer, attendance, bills and the package screens open as tabs. Smaller tasks — choosing a stylist, entering a cancellation reason, taking a payment — open as a window on top and close when you are done.

At the bottom of the window:

* **Close Tab** closes the tab you are looking at.
* **Close** closes Setup Appointments.

### **What opens automatically**

When you open Setup Appointments, the **Job Slip Viewer** and the **Appointment Viewer** open straight away, with the Appointment Viewer in front. Either can be switched off in Settings — *Do Not Load Scheduler On Start* (the Appointment Viewer) and *Do Not Load Job Slip Viewer On Start*.

If **Check For Expired Advance Schemes** is ticked in Settings, expired customer advances are checked as the window opens.

The **appointment reminder** also starts working in the background, and pops up when today's appointments are due — see [Appointment Reminders](/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/billing/setup-appointments/appointments/appointment-reminders.md).

### **Your layout is remembered**

The diary view you were using, how it is grouped, *Work time only*, and whether the menu and side panels were open or closed are saved **for each user** — separately for the desktop and the web — and come back the next time you open it.

## On the web and on a phone

Open **Billing\Setup Appointments** from the web menu in the same way.

* The **Appointment Viewer** is the main page, with the menu beside it.
* **On a phone** the menu floats over the diary. It starts closed: tap **>>** to open it, then double-tap the screen you want. The menu closes by itself once that screen opens.
* Screens open as full-screen pages over the diary instead of tabs.
* A few desktop-only items are not shown on the web: **Create New Bill**, **Customer Advance** and the **Print Designs** group. On the web, bills are made through the POS billing page instead.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://kb.logicerp.com/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/billing/setup-appointments.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
