# Allow Item Wise Godowns

**YouTube:** [How to Allow Item-Wise Manual Godown Selection in Packing Slips?](https://youtu.be/_3H3wMUGp50)

## How to Allow Item Wise Manual Godown Selection in Packing Slips?

In this tutorial, we will learn how to enable **item-wise Godown selection** in Packing Slip entries using the **"Allow Item Wise Godowns"** option in Logic ERP. This feature allows different godowns to be selected for individual items instead of applying a single godown to the entire document.

***

### Objective of This Feature

* Select different godowns for individual items
* Improve item-wise stock allocation
* Provide greater flexibility during packing slip entry
* Support transactions involving multiple godowns
* Reduce dependency on header-level godown selection

***

### Access to the Packing Slip Configuration

* Navigate to the **Packing Slip** module.
* Open the **Configuration** window.
* Go to the **Other Options 2** section.
* Locate and the option labeled as:

> **"Allow Item Wise Godowns"**

* Once enabled, an additional option **Allow Manual Selection of Item Wise Godowns** will appear.
* Enable this option as well.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FJXuwzY3mxG0rqjTBhxgJ%2FCNF%202.png?alt=media&amp;token=37c05be8-0369-4ed5-98b8-57fe1f65693b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Save the configuration changes.

***

### Create a New Packing Slip

* Initiate a **New Packing Slip** entry.
* Select the required customer.
* Retrieve the required **Sales Order**.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2F5g75TyAIvb5PhuxDFvuT%2FSelect%20Order.png?alt=media&amp;token=987d1fef-611f-4435-ba96-dd81e21ebac5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result**

As item-wise godown selection is enabled:

* The **Godown** field at the header level is disabled.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FnKlbJyDQynvPChBxWJwX%2FDisabled.png?alt=media&amp;token=db10ff74-0f80-42d0-9cde-693d0cb6f8fa" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Godown selection is now managed at the item level.

* Scan or enter the item.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2FnZ3Usea9x4p3zKSgu0hX%2FScan%20Item%20Code.png?alt=media&amp;token=bd896b96-b417-4433-a094-a81936f5a53d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Allocate the required quantity.

<figure><img src="https://4031188996-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMVkjt8zqHBQX1c9QvFS%2Fuploads%2Foa2FpKqGhAPd89FNgXJ6%2FLot%20Allocation%20to%20Main.png?alt=media&amp;token=a2f279f5-40c8-431c-80e9-0ad8614c6b99" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Result**

* The selected godown is assigned specifically to that item.
* You can repeat the same process for other items and select **different godowns** as required.

***

### Example

For example:

* **Item 1 → Godown A**
* **Item 2 → Godown B**
* **Item 3 → Godown C**

This allows each item in the same Packing Slip to be allocated from a different godown.

***

### Key Benefits

* **Item-Level Control:** Select a specific godown for each item.
* **Flexible Stock Allocation:** Allocate items from different godowns within the same document.
* **Improved Inventory Management:** Provides better control over item-wise stock movement.
* **Reduced Manual Work:** Eliminates the need to create separate documents for different godowns.
* **Better Accuracy:** Ensures each item is allocated from the intended godown.

***

### Important Note

When **"Allow Item Wise Godowns"** and the manual item-wise godown selection option are enabled, godown selection is performed at the **item level** rather than at the document header level.

***

### Final Outcome

After enabling **"Allow Item Wise Godowns"**, Logic ERP allows you to select and allocate **different godowns for individual items** during Packing Slip entry, providing greater flexibility and control over stock allocation.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://kb.logicerp.com/logic-erp-learning-hub-tutorials-and-best-practices/billing/packing-slip/packing-slip-configuration/allow-item-wise-godowns.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
