In this tutorial, we will walk you through one of the most common errors encountered during account creation—"Invalid Account Name". This error typically occurs when a user attempts to create an account that already exists in the system.
Navigate to Setup\Setup Accounts and click to "Setup New Account".
Enter Account Details
Input the Account Name, select the Account Type, and define the Sale Nature under the "Other Details" section.
Click on the Save button to create the account.
Observe the Error
If an account with the same name already exists, the system will display an error message: "Invalid Account Name".
Troubleshoot the Error
Copy the Account Name you attempted to save.
Paste it into the Filter/Search Bar at the top of the account list.
The system will show that the same account name already exists, confirming the reason for the error.
Option 1: Modify the account name slightly (e.g., include a suffix or identifier) and try saving again.
Option 2: If you believe the account should not exist or the issue persists, raise a support ticket via the Help Desk.
